Michael Grimm is a Full Professor of Development Economics at the University of Passau. He is also affiliated with IZA and the RWI Research Network and is a Research Professor at the German Institute of Economic Research (DIW) in Berlin. He holds a PhD in Development Economics from Sciences-Po Paris. Before joining the University of Passau he was a Professor at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. He is a founding member of the Rotterdam Global Health Initiative, a member of the Executive Board of the European Development Research Network (EUDN) and currently the chairman of the Standing Field Committee of Development Economics of the German Economic Association (VfS). His research covers problems related to poverty and growth in a low and middle income context such as education, health and private sector development including the evaluation of policies in these domains. He has published in journals such as the Journal of Development Economics, World Bank Economic Review, Health Economics, Demography and the Journal of Economic Geography.
